St Marys University Twickenham

Dear Trustees,

The Old Wandsworthians Memorial Trust grant has helped me in a variety of ways throughout my three years of studying at St Marys university. The grant had supported the costs for travelling to and from my placements and contributed towards purchasing resources for lessons.

The resources provided children with an experience of hands-on learning and allowed them to put their learning into real-life contexts. The grant also allowed me to purchase educational books to support my understanding and development in effective teaching practice. Through studying and reading, I was able to develop my own pedagogical knowledge and improve my confidence and independence in teaching during placements.

With a greater knowledge and understanding in effective teaching practice from purchasing a variety of books, I was able to apply the knowledge within my assignments and achieve high grades. At the end of my three years at university, I graduated and was awarded the Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education with QTS with upper second-class honours. I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the those involved in the trust who have been able to support me through the grants that I received during my time at University.

Best wishes to all.

Joe Herbert
