Good afternoon gentlemen.
On Saturday the 22nd of April we reach the formal culmination of another cracking season of Wandsworthians rugby.
As is tradition, the President’s (Penny) XV vs the Chairman’s XV (Ash) game brings the playing season to a close. This will then, obviously, be capped by a good old fashioned social. Penny and I will be sending details of the teams and the social shortly.
The Annual General Meeting of Old Wandsworthians RFC will take place on this day also, following the President’s XV vs the Chairmans XV game. This meeting is where we analyse the season, on and off the pitch, elect our club committee and make key decisions for the future.
There are two things to take priority note of:
1) If you wish to be elected for one of the posts below please ensure you send your expressions of interest to Ash no later than the 15th April at 1200
If you wish to discuss the JDs for any position please email or phone Ash.
2) A proposal will be made at the AGM to move from our current ground to another local ground.
Negotiations and consultation are currently taking place. A full explanation of the rationale will be sent in advance of the meeting inclusive of an analysis of the current / proposed situation. What we need is a clear steer from Members, Trustees and Friends of the club so that it is all of our decision as a club. Rest assured that no decision would ever be made that oat in the best interests of our members and our long history as a rugby club.
In order to inform this process we would welcome your questions, feedback and suggestions in advance so that we can frame the AGM conversation better regarding this specific proposal. Then of course questions and challenges will be encouraged at the meeting.
So, for now, make sure you clear the day and the evening of April 22nd to celebrate our great club.
The game will be at 1400 (players arrive 1315) and the AGM will be at 1630 in our room at the Berrylands. The social will move on thereafter.
Many of you were up for the Dinner and Dance so the Dubs will no doubt be in your diary anyway!
Can’t wait to see you all then.
